Smart Company presents its Smart50 Awards each year for fast growing SMEs.
There are certain entry criteria that you need to check before you enter: you must be an independent business, have proven year-on-year revenue growth for at least the previous three years; have fewer than 200 employees; and be turning over more than $500k.
The company with the biggest growth gets to be named as Number One on the Smart50 list. However, the further good news is that a winner is announced in each category based not on revenue but by meeting the selection criteria for that category.
The only way for anyone to enter is to self-nominate and you can enter as many categories as you are eligible for. They include:
Smart & Lasting, Top Franchise, Top Retailer, Top Exporter, Top Innovator, Top Regional, Community Hero, Top Marketing/PR Campaign and the StartUpSmart Award.
Making it onto the Smart50 list or winning a category is highly prestigious and a great brand boost. Previous winners include Atlassian, Adore Beauty, ShowPo, Booktopia, Laser Clinics Australia, Cohen Handler, Pana Chocolate and Appliances Online.
As well as the PR profile, entering the Smart50 Awards brings other benefits. Completing the entry process gives you the opportunity to consider your achievements. Entering the awards is a great way to take stock and to take the opportunity to write some case studies. If you’re entering the Smart50 Awards, allow plenty of time to consider your responses to the questions. It’s always a good idea to draft your answers in Word first so you can get them right before you upload them to the Smart50 entry portal.
